I decided to make some toast so I started with a very simple sketch. The butter is going to kind of be his mouth and I tried to have him lean and sag a little :

I’m not sure the leaning and sagging worked out according to plan directly, but when I started to add color I painted his eyes white to create the same friendly look as on the radio and had trouble with the yellow of the butter. The lines are simple and the color definition is loose on purpose, I didn’t want to spend a million years on toast. Here’s the finished product:

Needless to say I have a little trouble calling this guy a finished work. For a ten minute drawing though he’s not too bad. Large pupils, I decided, look friendlier on the toast than blank eyes. I am happy with the white border and had I been spending more time on this I would have added texture to the thing. oh well! I posted the toast to The Most Toast.
