Now it becomes clear I think visually that the intention is to reproduce the circulatory system in string on the outside of her body. I’ll look at it for a minute one way and the strings seem sweet with little bows. Then they seem grisly and tangled, and then sweet again. There’s something science-project-gone-awry developing [...]

Working on completing the artery and vein strings. The bulk of the detail left for this stage of the work is in the string wrapped around the right hand. After that it’s time for color.

I decided she should be clothed, because clothes are fun to draw. The iron ring that is the “heart” seemed like it would make an interesting element in her dress, and kind of meld her clothes with the string and vascular system, even though it’s kind of an unlikely element.
